Response to Michael

Michael asked “Who are you?”. I wish I could answer that! Because I work in the context of an evnagelical Christian framework, I have to stay withi certain bounds and in that framework, the question becomes :who are you in Christ? In a worshop series to get at the heart of that question, we selcted biblical charcaters we resonate with and did a presentation on the composit image. I resonat a lot with Rebeccah becasue she willingly, instantly left her home, country and family to go and marry a man she hardly knew but was confident was her soul mate. I left Canada at the age of 19 because I knew my spiritual destiny was in South Africa and two years later I met my husband. I also resonate a lot with Abigail, becasue she allowed wisdom and humility to direct her actions in the face of a crisis and averted the murder of her druken husband/ She was later rewarded for her courage bybeing married to King David. I was on my way to a farm in the mountains of Lesotho to volunteer with an educational project and this pastor I had met 2 days before met me halfway and said: ‘Don’t forget your obligations to The Church”. I stayed with the educational project for 3 months and then went back to Johannesburg and found the people from my church fighting for positions and power and destroying everything they had worked so hard to build. It wasn’t my place to do so but I told them how disgraceful their behaviour was and pointed out that this kind of thing is excatly why The Church has become a joke. I felt a bit like Abigail in that moment and was so thankful the pastor who met me halfway up the mountain ahd “prepared” me for this major challenge. I resonate most of all with Mary Magadalene. My personal history before the age of 19 is pretty grim and I walked on the “wrong side” of the tracks. I now know this was part of fulfilling my purpose, of learning to conenct with and understand drug addicts, prostitutes and gang members. I was lucky that I got out with only a mild “psychotic” disorder that I eventaully cleared through Lisa Whatley’s “Energetic Abundance” and “Practical Mastery” series. After that, I felt the need for a deeper, ongoing connection to God and a solid framework to explore Truth in, so I gave my life to Christ and became a “servant of the Lord Jesus”. Then my husband gave me “A Course in Miracles” and this helped me connect to my true self and discover “the kingdom of heaven within”. I’ve been trying for 3 years to put all the pieces of the puzzle together while playing the roles of “ambassador for Christ” as a missionary in Lesotho, spiritual coach during working hours, writer during every free minute I get, mom to two hyperactive kids, of whom one is an indigo child too- and jsut another “being in lesson” trying to graduate from this earth school but a bit stuck because my husband chose the route of worldly, corporate success and now we are on compeltely different wavelenghts. I don’t know what part of the bible that would feature in, so I have to answer the question “who are you?” by looking into other sources…

perhaps we can only actually understand who we actually are by moving into the heart—fully!

it is not a self-constructed mental concept with various abstractions and identifications that begets our identity, our Identity is already secured IN Christ, this security has been referred to in previous various teachings as “forgiveness.”

We can only Be who we are, not conceptually construct it.
