Meditation

Article by Michael Christ | Filed Under Meditation

On the Journey Into Mystic Consciousness, meditation is the vehicle that travels the path of the Journey. This vehicle, when operated consciously, removes all obstacles from the mind. Removing obstacles is the process of Revealing Truth. As clarity is consciously cultivated, it is seen that the obstacles of happiness occur only because the maintenance of the vehicle that is meditation has been ignored by a closed mind. Meditation is the conscious use of consciousness to step into True Freedom.

Being Free is the function of a Being composed entirely of Freedom. Any intention not aligned with the function of Being Free is an intention aligned with suffering. Any experience of suffering is an indication of the unconscious use of the vehicle of meditation. To Be Free, a Being of Freedom must meditate, for Freedom cannot be known with the unconscious drunken use of the vehicle. Being drunk in the operation of meditation is a journey into suffering. Either suffer, or Be Free; meditate accordingly.

Begin This Journey With Love

…a story to illustrate

Okay, so meditation , Michael thought, I know, how about that quote from the Bhagavad-Gita to open up on meditation.

Feeling like it was appropriate, he stopped typing so he could search for the quote. Finding the quote in chapter two to of the Gita, copying it, switching back over to this document and pasting it below, he wrote.

"As Krishna once said in his discourse with Arjuna as told in the Bhagavad-Gita, ‘the mind, when controlled by the roving senses, steals away the intellect as a storm takes away a boat on the sea from its destination, the spiritual shore of peace and happiness.’"

Yeah, that works , he thought, now let’s transition this into the importance of meditation… I keep writing the word importance, I wonder if it’s too many times… ah, oh well, on with it…

Michael paused for a moment so as to sit up straight, take a deep breath, focus his mind in inspiration and open his heart to express why meditation is a tool used to reveal the divine.

To focus his mind in inspiration, he simply quieted all dialog that he was allowing to bounce back and forth through his mind. In coming to a still mind-state, he inhaled a long slow breath through the nose while visualizing a stream of golden energy come in through the top of his head, and at the same time he envisioned a pink flower open up and blossom in his heart.

In doing this, a buzz of energy moved down over the head, shoulders and down the back while a warm expansion opened in the chest. At the same time, a small soft smile rounded the corners of the mouth as he felt a movement of tender love flow through the heart, and he couldn’t help but smile.

"Meditation clears your mind," he wrote, "clears it of all the excess baggage you allow to clutter it. Stress and depression are the eventual symptoms of a Being that allows baggage to block the flow of Supreme Beingness.

"Supreme Beingness is not a thing of the world that can be attained. Supreme Beingness Is , and it Is right Now. It’s not in the ideas of the past and the future you hold in your mind. To sever the link your mind has attached to those false realities allows the Love that flows through this moment to flow into your conscious awareness.

"Meditation is the tool that severs the link, opens up the space of mind and heart and lets the Now captivate your soul. The rise of Life from the Now is the movement of Love. Allowing that love to move into your beingness entirely is what fills up your cup and lets it overflow with divine abundance.

"Without that divine abundance, the idea of lack begins to creep into your mind, and your visions begin to resemble a hell filled with stress, depression and suffering. A mind snared in the net of lack is bound to chase after the pleasures of sense gratification, for nothing else seems to alleviate the suffering.

"Yet, after the feeling of pleasure has subsided, it’s back to more suffering. Up and down, round and round, the mind cycles through pleasure then pain, then back to pleasure, then back to pain; its no wonder that depression dominates the mind snared by confusion.

"Confusion only arises from a mind that attempts to know itself in relation to the past and future, for in the Now, the clarity of light shines away all confusion. However, surrendering to that one bliss-filled moment is a leap of faith, for it seems as though nothing is certain. Yet, in the Now is where abundance arises, for Now is the moment of Reality and meditation is the vehicle that travels into this moment."

Feeling complete, Michael quickly glanced back to see six paragraphs where just a moment ago there was none. I didn’t even have to think about it, I just let it flow , he thought.

Sitting calmly, envisioning himself writing about Prayer , he began typing so as to transition into that topic.

Into Meditation

Do you think?

Has a thought ever crossed your mind?

Did you answer "Yes" to those two questions?

If you did, consider reading on…

Have you ever felt stress? Have you ever felt depression? Do you know what it feels like to worry?

Has your mind ever been plagued with unceasing thoughts?

Have you ever tried to not think?

Is it possible to not engage in the activity of thinking ?

Wait ; don’t answer that question, because if you do then you’re engaging in the activity of thinking .

Meditation is a means to be still, to be quiet, to be calm.

Being still, quiet and calm are not the "ends" they are simply effects of meditation. Meditation itself cannot be an "end". If anything, it is a beginning; however, it is not that either.

Meditation is a vehicle of sorts. It takes your awareness to a place the activity of thinking cannot go.

Just as a car cannot take you to outer space, thinking cannot take you to serenity, peace, and harmony.

Have you ever witnessed infinity?

Have you ever looked up at the night sky?

If you have, then you have witnessed an expression of infinity.

Thinking cannot take you to the infinite depths of your True Self.

Only can you travel to that realm through a quiet mind, and meditation is that vehicle.
